Frequently Asked Questions

How much do your hospice advertising campaigns cost?
Standardized pricing applies to the community education campaign - each component costs $2,000 if purchased separately, with discounts available when three or more components are purchased. Our length of stay campaign is priced according to the size of the market; that is, hospices in smaller markets will pay lower prices than hospices in larger markets.

What is the licensing fee?
The campaign is copyrighted and owned by Hospice Strategies Group. The licensing fee is the amount your hospice pays Hospice Strategies Group for exclusive rights to use the campaign in your market area for one year.

What about customization fees?
We can customize the campaign for you; charges vary with each component. Call or e-mail us for exact prices. You can also customize the campaign yourself in-house or by using local resources. Often, TV and radio stations, publications and printers will provide customization at no charge as consideration for the business you're giving them.

What other costs should I include in my budget?
The first step in determining your budget should be to write a complete marketing communications plan which outlines your objectives and strategies. All of the tactics in your plan - including advertising - should work together to achieve your marketing objectives, and your budget will need to cover all of them. If you need help, marketing communications planning is one of the services offered by Hospice Strategies Group.

How much should we budget for media?
Media costs differ from market to market. Of course, the goal of your campaign is to communicate with as many people as possible (reach) as often as you can (frequency). Ask your local TV and radio stations, newspapers, magazines and outdoor advertising companies to explain their rates and describe their audiences. Media planning, negotiating and buying services are also available from Hospice Strategies Group.

How long is the term of the contract?
One year. By paying the licensing fee each year, you can renew as many times as you want.

Can other hospices in my area use the campaign?
Paying the licensing fee entitles you to exclusive rights to use the campaign in your area. However, if you are in a market where hospices don't really compete with each other, you might consider sharing the costs of the campaign.

What type of results have other hospices reported?
Response has been very positive. Read some of our testimonials.

What if we don't want or need the entire campaign?
There are several components in the campaign. You can purchase all of them or you can choose just the components you need, in any combination.

Why are the television spots only 10 seconds?
It costs much less to buy 10 seconds of television advertising than 30 seconds. This makes it possible to stretch your budget and to make sure that more people see your commercials more often. It's easy to make 30-second commercials if you want - just run three 10-second spots back to back.

How are the posters used?
You can place them in doctors' offices, clinics and hospitals, on community bulletin boards, in places of worship and other such locations to direct people in need to your hospice.

What is the video used for?
The video is an excellent introduction to hospice that you can use for speaking engagements and fund-raising.

Can we change the body copy of the ads?
Body copy in print materials can be revised slightly to reflect specific programs and services. Headlines, images, and the tone, content and amount of copy cannot be changed. Detailed guidelines for customizing are included in your contract with Hospice Strategies Group.

Can we get samples?
Call or e-mail Hospice Strategies Group for information on obtaining samples.
